Lesson 48 The silent village
1 . But people who are cut off not only from foreign tourists, but even from their own countrymen can be hostile to travellers.但是，那些不但與外國旅遊者隔絕，而且與本國同胞隔絕的人們有可能對遊客抱有敵意。
2 . Even under a clear blue sky, the village looked forbidding, as all the houses were built of grey mud bricks.農舍全用灰色的土坯建成，因此，即使在晴朗的藍天底下，村莊看上去也會令人感到難以親近。
