(1)introduction 指「書的緒論部分, 它往往是本書的第一部分, 這部分文字用來扼要地介紹書的內容, 篇幅一般比preface和foreword長」, 如:

一般說來, 書都有緒論。
(2)preface 指「由書的作者或他人為該書寫的序言或序文, 它是與本書分開的一部分,用來解釋寫書的目的、重要性等, 篇幅一般比foreward長」, 如:
