Lesson 119 A true story
1 . What's up, George? the called.「什麼事，喬治？」它叫著。
2 . Do you like stories? I want to tell you a true story.你喜歡聽故事嗎？我要告訴你一個真實的故事。
3 . George heard the noise and came downstairs quickly.喬治聽到了響聲，迅速地下了樓。
4 . While my friend, George, was reading in bed, two thieves climbed into his kitchen.當我的朋友喬治在床上看書時，兩個小偷爬進了他的廚房。
5 . 'Nothing, Henry,' George said and smiled.'Go back to sleep.'「沒事，亨利。」喬治笑著說，「接著睡覺吧。」
6 . It happened to a friend of mine a year ago.這是一年前發生在我的一個朋友身上的故事。
7 . The thieves dropped the torch and ran away as quickly as they could.小偷扔下了手電筒，飛快地逃走了。
8 . But George's parrot, Henry, was still there.但時喬治的鸚鵡亨利仍在那裡。
9 . He turned on the light, but he couldn't see anyone. The thieves had already gone.他開了燈，但不見一個人。小偷逃走了。
10 . It was very dark, so they turned on a torch.飯廳很暗，於是他們打開了手電筒。
11 . Suddenly, they heard a voice behind them.突然他們聽到身後有聲音。
12 . What's up? What's up? someone called.「什麼事？什麼事？」有人叫著。
13 . After they had entered the house, they went into the dining room.他們進到屋裡後，走進了飯廳。
